Referrals
Harry Shiers welcomes implant referrals from general dental practitioner’s whilst working together with the referring dentist. Patients are cared for in a considerate professional manner and either implant surgery alone or surgery plus the restorative part of the case may be carried out, according to the referring dentist’s wishes. We offer the referring dentist: involvement in the treatment, restorative advice, open evenings, and sedation by our consultant anaesthetist is available for patients. There is easy access to the centre by taxi, minicab, tube and bus. Car parking facilities are available immediately opposite the centre.

After initial implant training in 1992 with Straumann, Harry spent one years attachment at the Eastman dental institute in 1998-9, studying implant surgery and implant prosthodontics (Branemark). Harry has been placing implants in practice since.
Harry spent one year on attachment at the Eastman Dental Institute and two years at Guys Hospital studying and completing the masters in implant dentistry. He has experience with a number of implant systems from Astra Tech, Straumann, Nobel Biocare and others.
The aim of the practice now, is to concentrate on implant dentistry accepting referrals from friends and colleagues and conducting:
- The surgical phase alone and returning the patient to their GDP for the restorative phase of treatment providing any advice required.
- Complete the entire phase of implant treatment returning the patient to the referring GDP once this is complete.
The surgery is equipped with both Branemark and Astra dental implant systems.
