About Us

Harry Shiers the principal of the centre qualified from University College London in 1987. His philosophy is to be trained in the latest techniques and technologies of dentistry in order to achieve the best of one's abilities and truly understand the subject.

1989

A year spent with The American Society of Occlusion studying the tempro-mandibular joint (jaw joint) bite abnormalities and their management.

1990

Started The Harley Street Cosmetic Dental Centre as principal after a succession of European and American courses, lectures and training in aesthetic dentistry.

1990

Underwent initial dental implant training with The Institute Straumann.

1990-1996

Continuous post graduate education in Aesthetic, Implant and Reconstructive Dentistry. Membership to Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry.

1996

Attained his membership in General Dental Surgery to The Royal College of Surgeons of England, Started lecturing restorative dentistry to undergraduates at The London Hospital Dental School.

1997

A year on attachment to The Eastman Dental Institute studying Implant Dentistry before a further 2 years studying Implant Dentistry at Guys Hospital London where he was awarded a Master of Science Degree in Implant Dentistry.

1997

Started The Cosmetic & Implant Dental Clinic.

2000

Attained his MFDS examination and entry to The Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow.

Anaesthetist

Dr H Osman

Dr H Osman the in-house anaesthetist obtained his Diploma in Anaesthetics in 1976 from The Royal College of Surgeons in London. He was awarded his fellowship in 1980 and has worked in many teaching hospitals including Guys and St Thomas' and has specialised in dental sedation for the last 10 years.

Nurses

Helen Newberry

Helen started in the dental profession as laboratory technician in 1978 after ten years she undertook her formal training prior to moving into private practice in the west end of London in 1990. Helen has had extensive training in implant nursing and dental radiography.

Julia Cornwall

Julia started her nursing career in 1983 having trained at The Eastman Dental Institute she obtained a great deal of experience in the surgical protocols required for implant dentistry. She has been working with The Cosmetic & Implant Dental Clinic for 7 years.

Emer McCormack

Emer McCormack is one of our hygienists at The Cosmetic & Implant Dental Clinic. With a wealth of experience the hygienist team is well equipped to help your patients with maintenance of their implants and to continue an excellent level of oral hygiene.

Kate is another of our hygienists, hospital trained and has worked with The Cosmetic & Implant Dental Clinic for 4 years.
